The Minnesota Timberwolves had their sights set on going 2-0 on the season when they take on the Orlando Magic in Orlando. The game begins at 7 PM ET and will air on DAZN-MIN, WRDQ, and DAZN-ORL.

The Timberwolves turned in an impressive 131-106 victory over the Miami Heat in Miami on Wednesday, with Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball looking as good as advertised in their first regular season game together. Edwards finished with 45 points while Ball chipped in 21 points.

The Magic dropped their opening night game, falling 132-125 to the Atlanta Hawks. Paolo Banchero had 35 points while Wendell Carter Jr and Franz Wagner each scored 22 points, but it wasn’t enough to get by Atlanta.

This is the first meeting of the season between the two squads.

Donte DiVincenzo is OUT after undergoing right Achilles tendon surgery in April. He is hopeful to return at some point this season.

DiVincenzo is the only player listed on the injury report for the Timberwolves. The team started LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Jonathan Kuminga, and Rudy Gobert against the Heat. McDaniels finished with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Kuminga had 12 points. Gobert chipped in with five points and 15 rebounds.

Ayo Dosunmu played 29 minutes off the bench, scoring 16 points. Terrence Shannon Jr., Joan Beringer, and Trey Lyles were the other three players to play more than 12 minutes off the bench. Shannon Jr. had 10 points.

Anthony Black is OUT with a right ankle sprain. Black did not play against the Hawks in the opener for Orlando. In 64 games last season, he averaged 15 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 37 assists on 44% shooting from the field and 33% from three.

Jonathan Isaac is OUT with left knee injury management. He also missed the opener on Wednesday. He appeared in 52 games with the Magic last season, averaging 2.6 points and 2.5 rebounds in 10 minutes per game.

Izaiyah Nelson is OUT as he recovers from a left ankle injury. He was selected 51st overall by the Wizards in the 2026 draft, but was part of a draft night trade that sent him to the Magic. He has yet to make his NBA debut.

Noah Penda is OUT with a partially torn right hamstring. There is no timetable for his return.

Orlando started Paolo Banchero, Desmond Bane, Jalen Suggs, Wendell Carter Jr., and Franz Wagner against the Hawks. Tristan Da Silva, Jase Richardson, Jamal Cain, and Goga Bitadze all played more than 11 minutes off the bench.
