Walker Buehler will not pitch in the Padres’ first two NL Division Series games. His wife McKenzie is expected to give birth to their second child on Saturday, so the right‑hander was placed on the paternity list. Randy Vásquez was added to the roster in his place. Because Buehler was on the original roster, the Padres could not have added him later without an injury. Left‑hander Robbie Ray will start Game 1 instead. The NLDS roster includes catchers Luis Campusano, Freddy Fermin, Ethan Salas; infielders Miguel Andujar, Xander Bogaerts, Jake Cronenworth, Ty France, Manny Machado, Gavin Sheets; outfielders Jase Bowen, Dustin Harris, Austin Hays, Jackson Merrill, Fernando Tatis Jr., Samad Taylor; and pitchers Jason Adam, Michael King, Yuki Matsui, Mason Miller, Adrian Morejón, David Morgan, Joe Musgrove, Nick Pivetta, Robbie Ray, Bradgley Rodriguez, Randy Vásquez.
