Packers get encouraging Brandon Cisse update ahead of crucial Lions showdown – USFTB
The Green Bay Packers have received an encouraging update on rookie cornerback Brandon Cisse ahead of their important clash with the Detroit Lions, with the defender expecting to be in the starting line-up.
Cisse left Green Bay’s win over the Dallas Cowboys with a stinger that caused his arm to go numb, raising concerns about his availability for the next game.

However, despite being limited in practice throughout the week with a shoulder and neck injury, the second-round pick has insisted he is recovering well.
Brandon Cisse expects to start against the Detroit Lions
Speaking to reporters, Cisse offered a positive update on his condition as the Packers prepare to face one of the NFL’s most dangerous offences.
“I’m rehabbing and doing good,” Cisse said.
The rookie has started all six games for Green Bay this season, although cramps and injuries have forced him to leave three contests early. His ability to remain available will be particularly important against Detroit’s talented group of receivers.

Cisse has recorded 25 combined tackles, four pass break-ups, two quarterback hits, 1.5 sacks and an interception across 370 defensive snaps. He also picked up his first career interception against Dallas.
The Packers have benefited from his contribution in a defence that ranks among the league’s best in several passing categories. Cisse is still adjusting to the NFL, but his early performances suggest he can become an important part of the secondary.
Green Bay now faces a significant test against Jared Goff and the Lions. Goff has not thrown an interception this season, while Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams give Detroit multiple threats in the passing game.
Cisse knows the challenge that awaits him and his teammates.

“Obviously a big challenge,” he said. “They’ve got a very good core of guys. Obviously, they’ve done a really good job with their receiver room there.”
He also highlighted the quality of Detroit’s tight end and running back before stressing the importance of the defence being fully prepared.
The Packers will hope Cisse can take the field as expected and build on his performance against Dallas.
With Detroit possessing so many offensive weapons, having their rookie cornerback available could prove valuable in a game that carries major importance for Green Bay.
