Four games into the season, Texas is exactly where it hoped to be when the season began – undefeated, the No.1-ranked team in the country and 1-0 in conference play. But getting to 4-0 hasn’t necessarily looked the way many expected it would.
The Longhorns entered the season with plenty of questions, particularly on defense after significant personnel losses and with a new-look defensive staff. Instead, that side of the ball has emerged as one of the biggest reasons Texas remains unbeaten. The Longhorns have allowed just 13.3 points per game through four contests, and the defense has consistently found ways to make life difficult for opposing offenses.
At the same time, Texas’ offense has been a work in progress, making the team’s 4-0 start even more interesting to evaluate.
With that in mind, this week’s staff roundtable takes a look at who (or what) on this team has exceeded preseason expectations. From individual players to position groups to larger storylines, the Horns247 staff weighs in on the biggest surprises of the Longhorns’ undefeated start in our Horns247 Roundtable.
