Bronny James Charts His Own Course with the Lakers

Bronny James is stepping into his third NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers, focused on building his own career after his father, LeBron James, made the big move to the Philadelphia 76ers. While they made history as the first father-son teammates in NBA history, LeBron chose to chase another championship in Philadelphia, leaving Bronny behind in Los Angeles.

But there is no bitterness here. Bronny has made it clear he is happy for his dad and is actually excited to play against him, especially when the 76ers visit the Lakers on Christmas Day. He explained that they are both pretty low-key when it comes to talking business, and they both understand they have their own paths to walk. Bronny wants to make a name for himself, and his dad respects that.

Playing without LeBron in the locker room every day is a new chapter, but Bronny isn’t fazed. He’s spent almost his entire life with his dad, so he’s treating this as just the next step. He’s ready to lean on his teammates and coaches to keep growing.

On the court, Bronny is looking to build on what he did last season, especially in the playoffs when he stepped up while key players were injured. He wants to keep growing as a solid secondary ball-handler and a tough defender who can disrupt the other team’s offense. He knows he has to earn his role on his own now, but he is ready for the challenge.

As for the Lakers, Bronny is feeling good about the young, hungry team they are putting together. With players like Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and the new addition Walker Kessler, plus a bunch of new guys fighting for spots, he thinks the team’s youth and energy will translate into fast, high-effort basketball. He believes they have a real shot at going far.
