Mamukelashvili Joins Lakers, Channeling Kobe’s Mamba Mentality

Sandro Mamukelashvili spent four seasons bouncing between the Spurs and the Bucks before finding his footing with the Raptors. In 2025‑26 he averaged 11.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists, shooting 38.9% from beyond the arc. The Lakers signed him to a four‑year, $52 million deal, giving the Georgia‑born forward a chance to play for the franchise he followed from afar as a kid. A devoted Kobe Bryant fan, he says the Mamba’s relentless mindset shaped his work ethic, and he even has a tattoo of the legend. His versatility—spacing the floor, attacking closeouts and serving as a screen‑roll hub—fits well with Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves, making the Lakers one of the league’s most dynamic offenses.
