Quentin Grimes’ Lakers Signing: A Dream Come True for His Dad’s Team

This summer, Quentin Grimes finally had the chance to pick his own NBA spot after bouncing around the league for five years. He ended up with the Los Angeles Lakers, which meant reuniting with Luka Dončić from their Dallas days. But there was more to it—his dad, Marshall Grimes, grew up in the Oakland and San Jose area and was a huge Lakers fan, even playing with Kurt Rambis at Santa Clara. Grimes told ESPN LA that it was surreal to sign with the team his father always supported, remembering how his dad would wear Lakers gear during their workouts. The Lakers showed big trust by giving him a four-year, $60 million deal. Grimes is known for his shooting and defense, which should fit well with players like Dončić and Austin Reaves, making this an exciting new chapter.
