Ridley Scott Enlists Prisoners Writer for New Alien Movie
Aaron Guzikowski, the writer behind the intense drama Prisoners, is set to craft a new Alien film for 20th Century Studios and Ridley Scott. This collaboration marks a reunion for Guzikowski and Scott, who previously teamed up on the HBO Max series Raised by Wolves, where Guzikowski created the show and Scott executive produced. Scott is on board as a producer for this Alien project, but he’s not directing it just yet—no director has been attached. While details are under wraps, sources reveal that this movie isn’t a follow-up to the recent Alien: Romulus. Instead, it’s expected to weave into the narrative of Scott’s earlier Alien films, Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, with a focus on the android character played by Michael Fassbender, though Fassbender isn’t officially involved at this stage. Scott personally tapped Guzikowski to get the project moving, with J.R. Young from 20th Century overseeing the development. Guzikowski is known for his gritty storytelling, evident in works like Prisoners, the Papillon remake, and the series Red Road. He’s currently juggling other projects, including an original sci-fi film for Jon Watts and an adaptation of a Philip K. Dick story for Sony.
