Sprague and Biegel Out: Michigan O-Line Faces Test in Little Brown Jug Showdown

In a tough break for Michigan, right tackle Andrew Sprague and offensive lineman Manuel Biegel won’t be playing in the road game against Minnesota this Saturday. The latest injury report confirms they’re ruled out. Other players like edge rushers John Henry Daley and Dom Nichols, receiver Andrew Marsh, and lineman Houston Ka’aha’aina-Torres are still listed as questionable. This Saturday’s game is special—it’s the 100th time Michigan and Minnesota battle for the Little Brown Jug, the oldest trophy game in college football. Sprague’s been sidelined for a couple of games with an undisclosed injury, and Biegel sat out the Iowa game last weekend. Blake Frazier, who’s been starting in Sprague’s place, is probable to play. Marsh has been on fire lately, with two straight 100-yard receiving games. Nichols played despite being questionable, but Daley got hurt in the Iowa loss.

Michigan offensive lineman Andrew Sprague lost his helmet on this play in the first quarter of a game between the University of Michigan and Western Michigan University, at Michigan Stadium, in Ann Arbor, September 5, 2026.
