Travis Kelce is already a legend in the NFL, and he’s about to add another milestone to his resume. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is tied with Tim Brown for the seventh-most receptions in history at 1,094, so just one catch from Patrick Mahomes will put him in sole possession of that spot. This week, the Chiefs are up against the Las Vegas Raiders, who have a tough pass defense that’s allowed the sixth-fewest completions in the league. But Kelce has been on fire lately, averaging 4.6 receptions per game through the first three weeks. If he keeps that pace, he’ll likely pass Cris Carter (1,101 catches) in Week 5 and Marvin Harrison (1,102) in Week 6 to claim the No. 5 spot all-time. Even if he doesn’t hit those marks this week, it’s only a matter of time before he climbs the ranks. Looking ahead, Kelce could aim for No. 4, held by Jason Witten with 1,228 receptions, but that’ll take a huge season or two. At 36 years old, with 14 seasons under his belt, retirement might be around the corner, but for now, he’s still making history.
