A new champion will be crowned in the WNBA this season. The No. 2 seed Golden State Valkyries and the No. 4 seed Atlanta Dream are both looking to bring home their very first championship as they face off in the WNBA Finals. The best-of-seven series kicked off on Saturday at Chase Center in San Francisco, with the Valkyries taking a hard-fought 68-64 victory in Game 1.
As the higher seed, Golden State will host Games 2, 5, and 7 at Chase Center. Meanwhile, the Dream will host Games 3 and 4. To accommodate the massive playoff excitement, Atlanta moved these home games from their usual 3,500-seat arena to State Farm Arena, which holds over 17,000 fans. Game 3 was also adjusted to Wednesday, Oct. 21, to give the arena prep team a bit more time.
