FORECAST
TONIGHT
Val Verde County, be aware that you will see heavy rain through Friday morning. In San Antonio, any rain will be brief and near sunrise tomorrow.
FRIDAY: COLD FRONT DAY
Morning
Most of the rain will be in Val Verde County, but the Hill Country should also see scattered showers in the predawn hours. A broken line of showers will develop along the front and quickly pass through San Antonio with a 30% chance of rain from roughly 3am to 10am. It’ll also be very windy with gusts of 40 to 50 mph out of the north. Make sure your outdoor Halloween decorations and lightweight patio furniture are secured!
Sometimes when we get wind gusts of 40-50 mph, tree branches can interact with powerlines, causing spotty power outages. This isn’t a guarantee, but it’s a possibility to be aware of.
Afternoon
Rain will move out and the sun will return by Friday afternoon. That doesn’t mean it’ll get warm. In fact, highs will struggle to get out of the 60s. Gusty winds will stay in place through the evening.
WEEKEND: COLD MORNINGS, BEAUTIFUL AFTERNOONS
By Saturday morning, San Antonio will see temperatures drop to near 50. Lows dip into the 40s in the Hill Country, with wind chill values falling into the 30s. Sunday morning could be a degree or two cooler. The afternoons are forecast to be beautiful!
Next week, we’ll see a gradual warm-up but it won’t be as hot as this past week was.
