The TODAY Show Goes to Ireland! Live Updates on the 4-Hour Extravaganza – USFTB
Welcome to the Cliffs of Moher. Rising more than 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean, the cliffs are a UNESCO Global Geopark and one of Ireland’s most popular tourist attractions.
Located along the west coast of the island in County Clare, the Cliffs of Moher are part of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, a 1600-mile route that stretches from Inishowen’s Malin Head to the charming coastal town of Kinsale.

To get there, Savannah took a choppy ferry ride from Kenmare. Ferry operator Liam O’Brien, who operates the Doolin Ferry with his wife Erin, warned her they were “just at the tail end of a storm,” and while they don’t normally do trips in this type of weather, they “made an exception for you.”
Savannah described the boat trip to a “roller coaster” and, on the swell, said, “This is crazy.”

After that ride, Savannah took in the stunning cliffs for the very first time.
Comprised of shale, sandstone and siltstone, the natural wonder is thought to be more than 300 million years old and offers one of the most breathtaking vistas in the world.
If the cliffs look familiar, you might recognize them from the 2009 movie “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” in which they served as the backdrop for one of the film’s most pivotal scenes.

After looking at the cliffs from the water, she then took in the view from above. “Wow,” Savannah said. “Incredible. I can’t believe I’m standing here.”
