Texas Southern vs. FAU: Week 5 Betting Odds, Prediction – USFTB

Oct. 3, 2026, 11:30 a.m. ET

Head coach Zach Kittley has his Owls off to a 3-1 start, including a victory in conference so far. FAU will take a quick break from American Conference play to welcome Texas Southern out of the FCS.

The Tigers won their first game of the season against North Carolina Central, but have dropped their last three contests. Texas Southern lost in overtime last week in a nailbiter to Alcorn State 43-40, and hope to give FAU all they can handle later today.

If you are looking for some betting advice for the matchup, we’ve got you covered. Here are the latest odds for the game, courtesy of BetMGM.

  • Over-Under: Over 61.5 (-110), Under 61.5 (-110)

Texas Southern vs. FAU prediction, pick:

On the other hand, FAU lost their first game of the year in a beatdown at the hands of Florida, but have since won their last three games. Their most recent triumph was a victory at Louisiana-Monroe, where the Owls jumped out to a 35-17 lead at halftime. FAU shut out Louisiana-Monroe last week in the second half.

That defensive momentum is likely to carry over into this week against an FCS opponent who may struggle to put points on the board, even though Texas Southern has largely been impressive in that department.

This is one of the largest spreads of the week given the talent disparity, but both teams should be able to cover the combined over when all is said and done.

Prediction: FAU 51, Texas Southern 17

Best Bet: Over 61.5
