Sources — At least 3 teams in mix for Jets goalie Hellebuyck — USFTB
At least three teams are in the mix to acquire Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, sources told ESPN. The 33‑year‑old Vezina Trophy winner has been suspended since he failed to report to training camp, forfeiting roughly $39,000 each day. The Jets have notified him that his suspension will end on Friday, Oct. 23. If a trade does not happen this week, the Jets are expected to keep paying Hellebuyck while keeping him away from the team. Hellebuyck, who led the U.S. men’s hockey team to Olympic gold in February, requested a trade from Winnipeg this summer. He is in the third year of a seven‑year, $59.5 million contract and holds a full no‑movement clause.
