‘So Tired of Her,’ ‘Telling Lies for No Reason’ — WNBA Fans Slam Sophie Cunningham for Branding Angel Reese’s Play ‘Dangerous’ – USFTB
Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream are preparing for the WNBA Finals after sweeping the New York Liberty. But Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has questioned some of the three-time All-Star’s plays during the series-clinching victory.
Cunningham discussed the Dream star on Thursday’s episode of her “No Hesitation” podcast, co-hosted by Drew Hanlen. She criticized Reese’s physical play while also acknowledging her willingness to stand up for teammates, with her remarks drawing attention from fans on social media.

WNBA Fans Fed Up With Sophie Cunningham’s Comments About Angel Reese
The former Phoenix Mercury guard questioned two plays involving Reese that she believed should have drawn fouls.
“I’m going to give her credit … Angel is going to play hard. She is a player who goes after the ball … but you can’t tackle someone in the air, and then go for someone’s knees and ankles,” Cunningham said.
She continued:
“Like, that’s a dangerous play. Technically, both of those are a little dangerous. And for those to just go uncalled, is that not weird? Am I missing something?”
Several fans on X took issue with Cunningham’s remarks.

“I’m so sick of this lady,” one fan wrote.
Another, whose profile supports Atlanta’s Finals run, commented, “[Expletive] keep 5’s name out of your dirty mouth.”
A third questioned why Cunningham’s opinions continued to attract attention, asking, “Who keeps asking for this woman’s opinions?”
Another observer expressed similar frustration: “I’m so tired of her [expletive] man.”
One fan went further, questioning Cunningham’s intentions toward the newly minted Defensive Player of the Year:
“This [expletive] is clearly trying to antagonize Angel to the point where she retaliates on the court in a game against the Fever next season, so she can grift off that moment.”

The same fan also urged Reese to continue ignoring the Fever veteran.
Another fan challenged Cunningham’s description of the plays, writing, “Because when has Angel tackled someone in the air. She really is always just telling lies for no reason.”
The 3-and-D specialist also believed Reese deserved a technical foul for following Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu down the court after Ionescu was called for an offensive foul on Isobel Borlase. ESPN analyst Rebecca Lobo agreed during the broadcast, but officials reviewed the incident and determined that no hostile act had occurred.

The Dream All-Star later received a technical after a confrontation with New York center Jonquel Jones, who was also penalized. Cunningham disagreed with that call.
The technical was Reese’s second of the postseason, resulting in a $500 fine and leaving her two away from an automatic one-game suspension ahead of Saturday’s WNBA Finals opener against the Golden State Valkyries.
