Cam Ward Fired Up to Lead Titans Turnaround
When the Titans picked quarterback Cam Ward in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, he called it one of the best days of his life. Ward jumped at the chance to join an organization that hadn’t seen much success, aiming to be part of a turnaround. The Titans were coming off a tough 3-14 season, and Ward knew the challenge wouldn’t be easy. So far, it’s been a grind—they’re just 3-19 in his 22 starts, and he’s dealing with the aftermath of his head coach getting fired. But Ward didn’t sign up for a walk in the park. “It’s not going to be easy—we’re in the NFL,” he said. “We’re the one percent for a reason. The difference comes down to execution: if I play well, if everyone in the building plays well, we’re all in this together.” On Wednesday, Ward stayed positive, vowing to keep working hard. “We all have something to play for,” he shared. “It’s bigger than ourselves—it’s about the organization and the story we want to tell. We can control that every week. It’s exciting to keep playing football. We know we’re not at our best, but each week is a chance to change how people see us as a team.” In five games this season, Ward has thrown for 896 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions on 98-of-155 passes. The Titans are coming off a rough 26-3 loss to the Texans and head to Indianapolis to face the Colts this Sunday. “We know what we’re capable of, but we’re falling short of our expectations,” Ward admitted. “We’ve still got a lot of games left. At the end of the day, we need to step up on Sundays to get the results we want.”
