Projected Lineup: October 18 at Calgary – USFTB
CALGARY, Alta. – The Carolina Hurricanes have one game-time decision tonight as they take on the Calgary Flames.
Rod Brind’Amour did not specify who when he shared the news with reporters pre-game at Scotiabank Saddledome. If needed, the Canes have Nic Deslauriers and Juuso Valimaki as healthy extras on the trip.
Because of the already existing batch of injuries on the team, Bradly Nadeau and Felix Unger Sorum both made their season debuts yesterday and received praise from the head coach for their efforts.
“When you can have that kind of quality players ready to step in, that helps,” Brind’Amour said. “That makes a huge difference. I thought both guys stepped up really well. Nadeau stepped right into Hallsy’s spot and did an admirable job with that group.”
Speaking of currently injured players, Seth Jarvis is “getting closer” to his return, but tonight will not be the night.
“It’s coming. There’s a certain amount of time where he has to get to, and it’s coming close to it. Then we can talk about if we can clear him,” Brind’Amour continued. “He’s around the corner.”
Behind the cast of skaters, Brandon Bussi is expected to start after Pyotr Kochetkov got the nod yesterday in Winnipeg. Bussi picked up victories over Montreal and Chicago in his last two outings, making a combined 40 saves.
See if the Canes can pick up their eighth win in a row at 8:00 p.m. ET on Hurricanes Hockey Network.
