Montpelier Idaho Temple Dedication Set for October 2026
Henry B. Eyring, first counselor in the First Presidency, will dedicate the Montpelier Idaho Temple on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The ceremony will start at 10 a.m. MDT and will be rebroadcast at 2 p.m. MDT, reaching all congregations in the temple district. The public can tour the temple from September 10 through 26, excluding Sundays, after a media day on September 8. The temple was announced by President Russell M. Nelson at the April 2022 general conference and the groundbreaking was held in June 2023. Located at 534 Washington Street in Montpelier, the temple will become the 225th operating temple worldwide, serving more than 15,000 Church members in Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming. Idaho has nearly 483,000 Latter‑day Saints in over 1,300 congregations. Once dedicated, it will be the eighth temple in the state, joining the temples in Idaho Falls, Boise, Burley, Rexburg, Twin Falls, Meridian, and Pocatello. The Teton River Idaho Temple and the Coeur d’Alene Idaho Temple are under construction, and the Caldwell Idaho Temple was announced in April 2025. Temples are houses of the Lord where families can be united for eternity and members can make covenants.
