BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – One person is dead and two others are hospitalized for smoke inhalation following a house fire Wednesday morning, Bangor fire officials said.
Fire officials responded to the home around 6:30 a.m., just two minutes after receiving the call. “
Crews were met with three people out in the street confirming that there maybe somebody still inside,” Bangor Fire Chief Eric Pelletier told WABI. “An aggressive attack and search was initiated but despite the crew’s best effort one person didn’t make it out.”
Investigators remain on scene at the corner of Second and Cedar streets. There is no word yet on a cause.
Cedar Street will be closed to traffic for some time.
Updates will be provided as they become available.
