Developer Riot Games has not confirmed any of it, so treat abilities, role and names as unverified. Riot has teased a new agent, and her white hair and purple eyes appear in official art, and reports point to a reveal during VALORANT Champions Shanghai finals weekend.
Who is the new VALORANT agent?
She is rumored to be a Duelist, which would give her a role akin to Jett, Neon, and Waylay. According to a post from former Paper Rex player Benkai, she is Cantonese. That points to Hong Kong, Macau or southern China, which would make her the third Chinese agent after Iso (Chongqing) and Sage (Xi’an). Agent voice lines heard at a Shanghai pop-up cafe themed around the agent indicate that she has a mainland Cantonese dialect, pointing to her most likely being from the Guangdong province.
On looks, the teasers show long white hair, glowing purple eyes and a purple and pink color palette. A ghost-like motif has also been spotted, though no one has confirmed whether it ties into her abilities.
The leaked kit
Details of the new VALORANT agent’s kit have been leaked by Brazilian content creator Marpkat. The kit has a passive called Double Life. It reportedly gives her a different ability depending on whether she is attacking or defending.
- Range Trigger (basic): Equip a pressurised cannon and throw it, and it sticks to the first surface it hits. After a short delay it releases a thin curtain of mist. Agents who pass through are nearsighted, with reduced vision.
- Secondary Projection (basic): Aim at an ally to capture an imprint of their signature ability. Alt fire on a downed ally collects their signature instead. Reactivate to use the copied ability. She loses it at the end of the round.
- Charged Roll (signature): Equip to prepare a dash, then fire at a compatible wall to pass through it, emerge on the other side and roll in your direction of movement.
Ability icons spotted at Riot’s Shanghai pop-up café reportedly include a grenade-like item, an eight-sided die and two ghosts. That might connect to the copy and roll abilities, but it is pure speculation.
Two different ultimates
The ultimate reportedly changes depending on side, similar to how the new Champions bundle Phantom and fan knife swap looks between attack and defense. The leak lists one version for each Earth.
- Ground Rules (Alpha Earth): Equip a four-pointed star and fire it at the target location to create a gravitational field for a short time. Enemies inside are repelled toward the perimeter and slowed. The star can be destroyed at the start of the field.
- Star Burst (Omega Earth): Fire a condensed star to the target location, which creates an anti-gravity field after a short delay. Enemies inside are lifted and float. After a short period the star detonates, damaging anyone in its blast.
The new VALORANT agent’s impact
If the leaks are accurate, she would be an unusual Duelist. The nearsight mist is an information denial tool, and copying ally signatures would make her kit flexible depending on her team comp. The through a wall dash would add another movement option alongside entry duelists like Waylay or Jett, although her rumoured dash would be incredible if combined with abilities like Breach’s ult or a good blind. Her arrival would follow Miks, the controller added in March.
Supposedly Riot will reveal her during the recently-announced showmatch at VALORANT Champions Shanghai. Until Riot confirms her name, role and kit, everything here remains a rumor.
