New Orleans hosts Atlanta this week with Vele 34th among wide receivers in PFN’s Week 4 rankings, and his catch, target and yardage totals have slipped in every game so far. Jordyn Tyson is eligible to come off injured reserve ahead of Week 5, which turns this into a competition for the third option behind Chris Olave and Juwan Johnson. The Travis Etienne injury pushes this offense into a pass-centric approach, and that helps. He remains in the flex conversation for now, even if his best two-week run of 2026 may already be behind him.
Should You Start or Sit Devaughn Vele in Week 4?
Vele has seen his catch, target, yards and fantasy totals drop with each game this season. That’s not the end of the world given that the opener was a crazy overtime contest, but it is a fact that his production is moving in the wrong direction and that Jordyn Tyson is eligible to come off of injured reserve ahead of Week 5.

We don’t have any news on the health of the rookie yet and the hamstring that grabbed at him could well require some finessing as he works up to game speed. I think Vele remains a valuable piece of this uptempo offense, but the production windows are closing.

Tyler Shough has shown promise, and I like what Kellen Moore is putting on tape weekly; it’s just hard to sustain an offense juggling this many pieces. Chris Olave is a certified baller, and I liked Juwan Johnson as a TE1 this summer, a ranking that is aging well.
When Tyson is back, we are talking about a competition for the third option, a role that matters, but also one that is naturally not going to get a ton of action some weeks.

The injury to Travis Etienne guides this offense into a pass-centric approach, and that’s obviously a good thing here. Vele remains in the flex conversation for now, though I do think it’s possible that his best two-week run of production in 2026 came in the first two weeks of the season.
