Fàbregas Slams Carrick Replacement Rumors as Disrespectful
Cesc Fàbregas isn’t holding back when it comes to talk of him taking over from Michael Carrick at Manchester United. Ahead of Como’s Champions League clash with United, Fàbregas flat-out refused to answer questions about the possibility, calling the line of questioning disrespectful. ‘I won’t answer that question because I think that’s not a very nice question,’ he said at the pre-match press conference. He went on to stress how much respect Carrick deserves, labeling him a great footballer and manager at the helm of a wonderful United side. United are having a rough season with only two wins and no victories in over a month, but Fàbregas, who knows the club inside out, highlighted their history and quality. Como, on the other hand, are flying high in fifth place in Serie A after a recent win over Fiorentina. Fàbregas also mentioned knowing United’s staff well, including Steve Holland from his Chelsea days, and praised Carrick’s past achievements, like guiding United back to the Champions League.
