Amon-Ra St. Brown vs. Packers Week 7: Three Expectations for Lions WR
Amon-Ra St. Brown spent the bye week stewing over a game the Detroit Lions won by 24 points. Detroit beat Arizona 45-21 on Oct. 11, and its top receiver still left the desert thinking about a third-quarter drop and two fumbles.
“I have high standards for myself and the way I play,” St. Brown said this week. “I feel like I was below the standard last game and you hate to have games like that.”

His answer comes Sunday at Ford Field against the 4-2 Packers, in a division game that matters more after Detroit went 2-4 in the NFC North last season. St. Brown was not on the Lions’ final injury report and is set to play.

St. Brown has 37 catches on 57 targets for 372 yards and five touchdowns in five games, according to Pro Football Reference. Those 57 targets account for nearly 30% of Jared Goff’s 191 attempts, and Tom Kennedy’s season-ending MCL injury only narrows the list of options behind him.

Green Bay’s safeties will see plenty of him. Javon Bullard owns an 80.2 PFF coverage grade, eighth among 98 safeties, but he has allowed 20 receptions while holding them to 6.7 yards per catch, according to PFF. That profile points to a steady day of short completions. Expect seven or eight catches for 70 to 85 yards, with Detroit also leaning on Jahmyr Gibbs to carry the ground game.
He plays a clean game with no fumbles

The two fumbles in Arizona were the only ones on his 2026 log. Goff has 12 touchdown passes and zero interceptions this season, so ball security has been a strength of this offense outside of that one afternoon.

Green Bay’s back end hunts the football. Xavier McKinney has three interceptions and Evan Williams has two, per Pro Football Reference, and Williams earned an 87.5 PFF defensive grade in the Week 6 win over Dallas. St. Brown should also be fresher with DeAndre Carter stepping in as returner. Look for zero fumbles and a sure-handed afternoon.
St. Brown scores a touchdown in the red zone
Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs celebrates with Amon-Ra St. Brown.
His five touchdown catches rank third in the NFL, per the team. Rookie cornerback Brandon Cisse has given up a 147.4 passer rating in coverage, 100th among 104 cornerbacks, per PFF. Cisse practiced on a limited basis all week with shoulder and neck injuries but carries no game designation.

Green Bay is also without Micah Parsons, whose return keeps slipping, and linebacker Zaire Franklin is out. Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon knows the threat. “It’s a really good offense,” Gannon told reporters. St. Brown has averaged 5.1 catches and 52.6 yards in 10 career games against Green Bay with three total touchdowns. He adds one more Sunday.
Detroit may need every point. Josh Jacobs was activated Saturday and expected to play, and Jordan Love leads the league with eight completions of 40-plus yards while winning behind shaky protection.
