Joel Embiid, the star of the Philadelphia 76ers, has been speaking highly of second-year guard VJ Edgecombe. He told Edgecombe early this summer that he believes he is the future of the team and has the qualities to be a leader. Embiid, who tends to lead by example rather than by being vocal, has noticed Edgecombe taking charge, organizing teammates and speaking up in the locker room. He said Edgecombe has been everything and more in terms of leadership, and that his moment to shine is on the horizon.
