Midweek Musings: Are Hoover concerns fair?
No. 6 Indiana football was handed its first loss since Dec. 2024 in a loss to Ohio State. Now comes the difficult (and unfamiliar) part for IU: Bouncing back from a defeat with a major challenge looming at Michigan in Ann Arbor, where the Hoosiers haven’t won since 1967.
Peegs.com’s Jared Kelly is back with his weekly Midweek Musings column to offer his thoughts on all the latest happenings with IU football, college football and more. The only rule with this weekly column is there are no rules. This is meant to take on an informal, conversational style, as if you and I were sitting around a coffee shop and talking ball.
This week, we dive into the discourse surrounding Josh Hoover and attempt to answer the big question: Are the concerns fair or unfair? We’ll also take a closer look at Indiana’s rushing struggles over the last two games, then get into the 24-team College Football Playoff expansion. To round things out, we’ll have some additional miscellaneous thoughts on the Big Ten and college football as a whole in the Odds & Ends section.
So with all of the pleasantries and introductions out of the way… grab a seat, kick up your feet, maybe grab a beverage and let’s chat about the Hoosiers.
