The Seattle Seahawks are dealing with a tough injury blow. Starting running back Jadarian Price is going on injured reserve because of a chest injury. This means he’ll be out for at least the next four games. Price, who’s a rookie first-round pick, first got hurt in Week 2 and then made it worse during practice on Wednesday. Coach Mike Macdonald said it’s just one of those things in football, and it’s not Price’s fault. He’s been a great teammate and has a bright future.
With Price sidelined, the team is looking to Emanuel Wilson and George Holani to handle the running back duties. Zach Charbonnet is also getting closer to returning from his ACL surgery, which should help bolster the backfield. They even signed Velus Jones Jr. from the practice squad to add some depth. Wilson and Holani have both been putting up decent numbers, so the Seahawks feel confident they can step up.
Price has started all three games so far, rushing for 119 yards on 28 attempts, but he had some fumble issues that led to a brief benching. Macdonald emphasized that the other guys are ready to go and have been working hard. The team also elevated cornerback Trevon Diggs and safety Maxen Hook from the practice squad for their game against the Chargers this Sunday.
