NFC East on verge of bleak NFL record after Cowboys loss
The NFC East is facing a tough stretch. With the Cowboys falling to the Packers 23-13 on Sunday night, the division sits at 0-3 in Week 6. The Commanders are set to play the 49ers as underdogs on Monday, and if they lose, the NFC East could become the first division since 1970 to go winless in back-to-back weeks when all teams played. Last week wasn’t much better—the Giants and Commanders tied, while the Eagles lost their fourth straight game and the Cowboys dropped to the Buccaneers before getting crushed in Green Bay. Overall, the four teams are a combined 0-5-2 over the last two weeks. A Commanders loss would push that to 0-6-2, a feat even the 2010 NFC West, 2020 NFC East, and 2022 NFC South couldn’t achieve. The Giants still lead the division despite the struggles, but the Eagles and Cowboys will face off next week, offering a chance for someone to break the slump. The Commanders have a shot to move up if they can upset the 49ers, otherwise, they’ll stay behind.
