Winning feels great, and the Calgary Flames are all in on that. After their first win of the season against the Ducks, they landed in Vegas late Wednesday. At practice, they talked about how to keep getting better. The team has been improving steadily, and the 4-2 victory showed the determination captain Mikael Backlund wants every night. ‘We just kept pushing,’ he said. ‘We were ready to win and weren’t going to be denied.’ He liked the energy, even with some dips. Now, they’re up against the Golden Knights, a tough team from last year’s Finals. But after six games, it’s clear the Flames work hard and make things hard for others. Backlund says they need to stick to what works. ‘Coaches showed us what we did right,’ he noted. ‘Keep playing solid and frustrating teams.’
