West Asian Oil Exports Surge Past Pre-War Levels Despite Tanker Attacks
In a surprising turn, West Asian crude oil exports have jumped above the levels seen before the conflict, even with ongoing attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. According to a report from The Hindu, during the last week of September, there were four days where exports outpaced the pre-war records. Kpler, a firm that monitors ship movements, provided initial data showing that on September 24th and from the 27th to 29th, daily exports ranged between 19.5 and 22.5 million barrels. This is a notable increase from the average of 18 million barrels per day observed from March 2025 to February 2026, before the war began. The information was released on October 5, 2026.
