CORRALES, N.M. – Radiant Healing Together is connecting women with holistic care and community support as more than 2,000 New Mexico women face breast cancer this year.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and providers with Radiant Healing Together said the group helps women who are already going through breast cancer.
“It helps these women heal emotionally. It helps them, you know, cry together, but it also helps them laugh together and get out some of the things that they maybe can’t talk to their family about,” Diane Nielsen, a breast cancer nurse, said.
The Heritage House in Corrales is one of the group’s meeting locations. Women at any stage of breast cancer can join.
Big Jim’s Farms will host a gala next weekend for people who want to support the cause.
According to the National Cancer Society, more than 2,000 women in New Mexico will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year alone. Providers said early detection remains important.
