Oso Ighodaro on contract extension: ‘Amazing that my hometown team has this belief in me’
Oso Ighodaro, a Mesa native who played at Desert Vista, signed a three‑year extension with the Phoenix Suns. He said the deal shows how much the organization believes in him and called it a blessing to play for his hometown team. Last season he averaged 22 minutes, 6.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists while backing up Mark Williams. With Williams out for several months after a torn labrum, Ighodaro and rookie Khaman Maluach are expected to take on bigger roles. He praised coach Jordan Ott and star Devin Booker, saying he loves playing with them and believes in the team’s direction. Ighodaro feels he still has a lot to learn and is excited to keep improving each day.
