Bills S Sam Franklin suspended one game for spitting at a Raiders player
C.J. Gardner-Johnson isn’t the only Bills safety facing a one-game suspension for spitting at a Raiders player during last Sunday’s win.
The NFL announced on Wednesday that Sam Franklin has also drawn a suspension for that infraction. Per a release from the league, Franklin spit at an opposing player after the Raiders made an extra point with 1:32 left in the game.
Franklin can appeal the ban and Sal Capaccio of WGR reports that he intends to do so. Capaccio adds that Franklin “vehemently denies” that he spat at a member of the Raiders.
With the Bills on a bye this week, Franklin will miss Buffalo’s Week 8 game against the Ravens if the suspension is upheld.
Franklin has played in all six games for the Bills this season and seen all of his action on special teams. He has six tackles in that role.
