NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Titans CEO Burke Nihill, who is empowered to speak on behalf of controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk, said the organization fully believes in coach Robert Saleh and general manager Mike Borgonzi and will have patience with them.

The Titans are 0-5 in Saleh’s first season as coach and have won only three games since Borgonzi joined the team prior to the 2025 season. Overall, the franchise has won just six games dating to the 2023 season.

“I personally feel a sense of stability,” Nihill told ESPN on Friday. “I believe that Mike Borgonzi and Robert Saleh are ultimately going to get this team out of the woods and restore it to competitive football. The train is on the tracks. It just hasn’t picked up momentum, but it will.

“I can confidently say this organization is in a place where there is organizational belief in Mike, in Robert, and they absolutely have all the support they need to get this train moving and moving faster.”

Saleh’s first season in Tennessee has not gotten off to a good start. The defense has generated only two turnovers, and the offense is averaging a league-low 246.4 yards and 11.6 points.

Regardless, Saleh said the Titans are sticking to their process, which he described as “rigorous and detailed,” and vowed to put their best foot forward on Sundays.

“We’re going through a lot of adversity,” Saleh said. “But if we capture it the right way, we’re going to find a lot of growth, and when I tell you guys that the sun is going to shine on this organization eventually, it’s going to shine.”

The Titans have fired a coach or general manager every year since 2022. They recently fired senior vice president of brand marketing Erin Swartz, senior vice president and chief revenue officer Adam Nuse and vice president of creative Charles Jensen.

When asked about the instability, Nihill said it’s possible to be “agile while still being stable as a business.”

Tennessee has lost 33 of its past 39 games and is stuck in a seven-game losing streak dating to Week 17 of last season. There was a lot of optimism that the Titans would take a big step toward respectability heading into the opening of Nissan Stadium next season, but a poor product has left many fans wondering when they will get another win.

“The first thing I would say back to the fans is just that we’re sorry,” Nihill told ESPN. “There’s nobody in this building that doesn’t feel … a sense of grief about it, because not only are we fans of the team as well, but we feel the sense of responsibility to deliver. And we’ve let our fans down because football is supposed to be fun.

“I think it starts on the field and the state of the franchise. We’re 0-5, and that’s not nearly good enough. It hasn’t been for a while.”
