KaVontae Turpin Out with Rib Injury After Cowboys’ Opening Kickoff Return
GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Dallas Cowboys might secure a win at Lambeau Field, but they’ll have to do it without their star returner KaVontae Turpin. He got hurt right on the first kickoff, sustaining a rib injury during a 25-yard return after an awkward tackle. Turpin was examined on the sideline before heading to the locker room. Running back Tyler Goodson stepped in to handle returns. Turpin, a three-time Pro Bowler, was averaging 27.5 yards per kick return and 11.1 yards on punts this season. He’s also caught four passes for 39 yards and had two runs for 10 yards offensively.
