Washington QB Demond Williams Jr. Likely Out vs. Purdue After Rib Injury
Seattle — Washington Huskies quarterback Demond Williams Jr. is probably going to sit out the upcoming game against Purdue. He hurt his ribs during the team’s loss to Iowa, and coach Jedd Fisch said Monday that Williams isn’t practicing and it doesn’t look like he’ll play. Fisch described his status as day to day, but added that there would need to be a big change for him to suit up. Williams got hurt while diving for yards in the first half against Iowa and didn’t come back. Elijah Brown stepped in and did well, throwing for 251 yards and three touchdowns. It’s been a rollercoaster season for Williams, who briefly entered the transfer portal before returning. Through six games, he’s got a solid passer rating, but now Brown might get the start in Indiana. Fisch praised Brown for making good decisions and getting the ball out quickly.
