Meagan Good Talks ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Role and Life with Jonathan Majors
Meagan Good recently opened up about her experience joining the fourth season of Hulu’s legal drama Reasonable Doubt. She plays Regina Harris, the new district attorney who brings a complex personal life to the role. Regina is dealing with her mother’s illness and a strained relationship with her sister, who resents their mother for abandoning them as children. Good mentioned that she was thrilled to take on a lawyer character, something she’d always wanted to do, and appreciated the chance to work with show creator Raamla Mohamed Hunter and lead actress Emayatzy Corinealdi.
The actress noted that she knew many of her co-stars from previous projects, including Joseph Sikora from The Intruder and McKinley Freeman, who directed her in If Not Now, When?. This familiarity made the set feel warm and collaborative. When discussing her husband, Jonathan Majors, Good highlighted how his rigorous approach to acting, honed at Yale and through August Wilson plays, inspires her. She contrasted their paths—hers starting as a child actor for fun, while his was a deliberate pursuit from a young age—and said their mutual respect strengthens their craft.
Good also reflected on her career journey, particularly her efforts to move beyond the ‘pretty girl’ box she felt trapped in. She shared how cutting her hair and choosing roles like a cop in Deception helped redefine her image. Despite facing pushback and preconceived notions, she stayed focused on growth, emphasizing faith and patience. The interview touched on the spicy dynamic between Regina and Jax, which evolves from alliance to conflict, adding tension to the season.
