ECU, Coastal Carolina Announce Football Series Extension Through 2034 – USFTB
East Carolina and Coastal Carolina have decided to keep their football series alive through 2034. They’ll play seven times over the next eight years, with four games in Greenville and three in Conway. The Pirates will host the Chanticleers in 2028, 2030, 2032 and 2034, and travel to Conway in 2027, 2031 and 2033. ECU’s athletic director Jon Gilbert said the close distance and fan enthusiasm make this a natural rivalry. The two teams first met in the 2022 Birmingham Bowl, and ECU won the most recent matchup 38‑0 last season. Coastal Carolina will join Western Carolina, Georgia State and Northwestern as non‑conference opponents for ECU in 2027, and will face Norfolk State, South Carolina and Old Dominion in 2030. The extended schedule supports ECU’s focus on regional non‑conference games.
