Six Flags Over Georgia Renames Fright Fest Show After Tragedy
Six Flags Over Georgia has tweaked its Fright Fest plans for 2026, renaming a key show to be more sensitive following a recent tragedy. The production previously known as ‘Dr. Fright’s Dead Man’s Party’ is now listed as ‘Dr. Fright’s Party’ on the park’s website. This change comes after a fatal incident on the Goliath roller coaster on October 12, which left the park community shaken. A spokesperson explained that the adjustments were made out of respect for those affected by the event.
The show, which has been a Fright Fest staple since 1999 (with a break in 2025), is now described as a family-friendly Halloween celebration filled with energy and festive surprises, shifting away from its darker themes. Similar renames have been spotted at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, indicating a broader approach across the chain. As the park prepares to reopen on October 16 for a Fright Fest night, guests can expect this rebranded entertainment, though other changes might be in the works to maintain a respectful atmosphere.
