Metrolinx has awarded a major construction contract for the planned Grimsby GO Station to Kenaidan Murphy Joint Venture. The station will be located west of the Confederation GO Station and will add a new stop along the Lakeshore West Line, improving transit connections across Hamilton and the Niagara region in Ontario. When complete, it will reduce the time it takes many residents to drive to the nearest GO Transit station by up to 30 minutes, reducing congestion and improving access to transit, Metrolinx officials said in a press release. As the first station built using a new standardized approach, it will establish a model that can be delivered more quickly and efficiently for future stations.
The Houston Metro Police Department (MPD) is introducing a new Mobile Operations Command Center (MOCC) to help decentralize MPD resources and give officers greater flexibility to position personnel and services throughout Metro’s service area, agency officials said in a press release. Moody Park will serve as the MOCC’s first location before it moves throughout the transit agency’s service area based on community needs. The MOCC includes workstations, communication systems and space for officers to meet with members of the public, take reports and coordinate activities in real time.
The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has launched its Fall 2026 Customers Count survey, which aims to collect and analyze feedback from riders to identify priority issues across subway, bus, Staten Island Railway, commuter rail and paratransit services. The survey is available online in nine languages and via telephone. It will be open through Nov. 1; results are expected January 2027. “The Customers Count survey is a great way for us to hear from riders across the network about how we can deliver the best service possible,” said MTA Chief Customer Officer Shanifah Rieara. “Their responses strengthen our decision making and allow us to make smart investments in the system.”
