Roma remained unbeaten through its first half-dozen matches, including a 0-0 draw at Como on Sunday. It was a tale of two halves, with the Giallorossi the more dangerous side in the first half before a 53rd-minute red card to Donyell Malen changed the trajectory of the match. However, the Giallorossi didn’t let the numerical disadvantage stop them from holding on for a draw against a very dangerous side. So, let’s look at some of the key stats that helped Roma leave the Italian lake region with a crucial road point.

As in the number of goals in the match. This was the first time the Giallrossi have been held off the scoresheet this season. Conversely, by keeping Como off the scoresheet, Roma kept its fourth clean sheet of the season. This was also the first 0-0 draw of the Serie A season. And it remained the only scoreless match through the end of Sunday’s matches.

As in the number of goals prevented by Pierluigi Gollini. With Mile Svilar ruled out for a month, Gollini stepped between the sticks for his first start of the season and just his second appearance in all competitions since arriving at Roma prior to last season. And he didn’t disappoint. The Italian made 4 saves and was quick off the line on a number of ocassions in the match. The goals prevented were key in Roma holding on for the 0-0 after going down to 10 men and Gollini received the highest match rating for his efforts.

As in the number of team leading defensive contributions by Nahuel Molina for Roma. The Argentine was all over the pitch and played a strong match. After being bled into the line-up slowly—which allowed for the emergence of Emanuele Lulli—Molina showed why Roma opted to sign him this summer.

As in the number of points behind last season’s total through six matches. As well as Roma has played to open this season, and as good as an unblemished record feels so far, it’s easy to forget that Roma actually had more points through six matches last season. The Giallorossi weren’t unbeaten after the first half dozen matches last season, but with five wins and one loss, Roma had 15 points—one more than this season’s 14.
