Street Fighter Movie: How the Stunt Coordinator Made Every Fight Authentic
Noah Centineo, who plays Ken in the upcoming Street Fighter movie, shared some behind-the-scenes details about the fight choreography. He explained that the stunt coordinator, John Valera, spent a lot of time studying the fighting styles of every character in the game. With over 150 characters, each coming from a different background and having their own unique way of fighting, it was a big task. Centineo mentioned that Valera researched each character’s specific style to make sure the fights on screen matched what fans expect. The movie includes signature moves from the games, like Dhalsim’s long-range attacks or E.Honda’s sumo slaps, making the action feel true to the source material. While the film doesn’t feature all 150 characters, it brings in big names like Ken, Ryu, Guile, M. Bison, Chun-Li, Vega, and Cammy for the World Warrior Tournament. Street Fighter hits theaters on October 16, and it looks like the fights are going to be intense and faithful to the games.
